Popular South African politician Butana Komphela has been confirmed dead.

Butana Komphela, the controversial chairperson of Parliament's sports committee, is the key empowerment shareholder in a new Robben Island.

He passed away on Monday, January 24, He was Komphela served as MEC for Police, Roads and Transport in the province, as well as that of Health at an earlier stage, while nationally he served as the National Assembly sports committee chairman.
