Political Wire is an American political blog. As the son of a lawyer, teacher and writer, Goddard grew up in a household that regularly discussed politics and the role of journalists in communicating the behind the scenes workings of the government. Those people, I find, are professionally employed in politics or public affairs.

Goddard described his website as "a place where you want to start your day and then return various times a day to find out what's going on in the world of politics By , it was attracting upwards of ten million readers per month. In , Goddard formed a content partnership with Congressional Quarterly. The agreement expired in and the site is still owned and published by Goddard.

During the presidential election , PC Magazine named Political Wire one of the 20 best political web sites of Goddard also created Taegan Goddard's Wonk Wire , [ 18 ] a site focused on the latest public policy news, Taegan Goddard's Political Dictionary , [ 19 ] which explores the language of politics, as well as Taegan Goddard's Political Job Hunt , [ 20 ] which helps people interested in working in politics and public affairs.

The daily beast
