But if the measure of the largest health care system in Michigan is calculated based on net patient revenue, the newly expanded Henry Ford Health now eclipses Corewell.

The joint venture was finalized with Ascension as Henry Ford is in the midst of a major expansion of its own. When it's completed, it'll include a new, story patient tower, which will feature three floors dedicated to inpatient rehabilitation and physical medicine, along with an expanded emergency department, bigger surgical space and more.

Did I have confidence in the executive team and the clinical leaders, and confidence in our culture and its ability to help us do big things all at once? The expansion with Ascension is very consistent with our long-standing goal of being a value-based care provider, and so the ability to have many, many sites of team members really close and convenient to almost every community in southeast Michigan and beyond is really the best way to organize care and be able to drive value by making sure care is at the right place, at the right time, and, you know, for the right reasons.

So it fit with our strategic plan as well.
